CareDx Names COO to Additional CFO Post

Keith Kennedy’s new role takes effect Thursday, February 26.

CareDx is appointing its Chief Operating Officer (COO), Keith Kennedy, to the additional role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Kennedy’s added duties of overseeing the company’s finance organization take effect Feb. 26, 2026.

The outgoing CFO, Nathan Smith, announced on CareDx’s quarterly earnings call that he would be stepping down.

Kennedy Has COO and CFO Experience

Kennedy joined CareDx as COO in September 2024, but previously served as CFO at PharmaLogic Holdings Corp. Prior to that, he had been COO and CFO at Veracyte.

Neither Kennedy nor Smith has provided further comment on the CFO transition at this time.

CareDx Background and Developments

CareDx refers to itself as “The Transplant Company.” This signifies a focus on “discovery, development, and commercialization of clinically differentiated, high-value healthcare solutions for transplant patients and caregivers.”

Other news from CareDx came in January 2026, when it entered a strategic collaboration with 10x Genomics. This partnership established ImmuneScape, a multiomics research initiative to elucidate the biology of transplant organ rejection and therapeutic response.

“This collaboration marks a meaningful step in advancing precision transplant care,” John Hanna, CareDx President and CEO, said then. “We’re building upon a robust scientific foundation to drive future organ-health innovation across our diagnostic pipeline. Through ImmuneScape we aim to generate insights that translate transplant biology into high-value patient impact.”
